ワクチン開発加速：Accelerate vaccine development

ただしインフルエンザと同じように、ワクチンをうてばコロナにかからなくなるわけではなく、抵抗(免疫)ができて重症化しにくくなるということ。

引き続き感染対策は必要。

Vaccine development is unprecedentedly fast.

However, as with influenza, vaccination does not prevent corona from getting sick, but it means that resistance (immunity) is created and it is less likely to become severe.

Infection control is still needed.

この膨らむ社会保障給付費は早く手を打たないと、どんどん傷口が広がる。

増税、定年年齢の延長は必要になってくると思います。反対もあるでしょうが、満場一致の策はあり得ない。

If this swelling social security benefit cost is not dealt with quickly, the wound will spread more and more.

I think it will be necessary to raise taxes and extend the retirement age. There may be opposition, but there can be no unanimous measure.

中谷彰宏「読む本で人生が変わる」Gakken:Akihiro Nakatani "Reading books change your life" Gakken

中谷彰宏さんの「読む本で人生が変わる。」を読み終えました。
作家で読書家の中谷さんの本は読むといつもハッとさせられることがあり、とても大きな力をいただくことがあります。

個人的にためになった点を3つ挙げます。
〇1分あったら本を読む。1分の間に本を読む習慣をつけることが大切。（p109～）

〇本は選ばないで、手当たり次第に読む。選んでいるヒマがあるなら、読み始めた方が良い。（p179～）

〇落ち込んでいるときが、本を深く読めるチャンス。不安な時こそ、本を読む。今読んでいる本は、必ず未来への伏線になる。（p189～）

この言葉だけを見ても勇気づけられます。

I have finished reading Akihiro Nakatani's "The book you read will change your life."

Whenever I read a book by Mr. Nakatani, a writer and reader, I am always surprised, and it can be very powerful.

Here are three points that have been personally helpful.

〇 Read a book after 1 minute. It is important to get into the habit of reading a book in a minute. (P109 ~)

〇 Do not choose a book, read it randomly. If you have a free time to choose, you should start reading. (P179 ~)

〇 When you are depressed, you have a chance to read a book deeply. I read a book when I'm worried. The book you are reading now will surely be a hint to the future. (P189 ~)

It is encouraging to see only these words.

#酒税　段階的に変更:Liquor tax changed in stages

税率が段階的に下がってビールが安くなるのは良いですね。

それでも僕はまだ発泡酒派かな。

認知症薬　GE石炭火力発電撤退：Dementia drug GE coal-fired power generation withdrawal

認知症の薬が開発中なんて知らなかった。高齢化社会にはぜひ必要。

アメリカは温暖化対策をとっていない様に見えて、再生可能エネルギーや天然ガスによる発電に力を入れている。

I didn't know that a drug for dementia was under development. It is absolutely necessary for an aging society.

The United States does not seem to be taking measures against global warming, and is focusing on power generation using renewable energy and natural gas.
